ACE OF SPADES
The final instalment of my custom movie poster project from my senior year of Illustration. I took the elements I learned from the previous posters over the semester and created a concept poster for a fictious movie titled
“Ace of Spades” following the character “Cayde 6” from Destiny 2
With this project, I wanted to make an Illustration that pushed my Technical skill more then the others.
Pushing my composotion, posing, character design and Illustration, effects and painting.
Also just doing an Illustration with more of a grip on a consistent theme. Rather then trying to be clever or rewrite a story to a new theme. This was more just a character poster for one who deserves it.
CONCEPTUALIZING
The process for this poster was a challenge in trying to capture the personality of Cayde. Being the highly skilled gunslinger, but also the witty sarcastic jokester proved to be an interesting contrast to try and highlight with his pose. Focusing on things like his body language and expression to tell the story.
As well as playing with a composition that properly displayed the two together into a cohesive poster design, and making it all come together.
BRINGING CAYDE TO LIFE
After the design and Illustration process, the fun turned from Illustrating, to marketing. Turning the Poster concept into a more applicable and relevant design. Pushing the idea to its fullest potential and seeing what It would look like under a real marketing campaign and the products from it.
